The Details

M-Level Motorhome Hydraulic, Levelling & Stabilisation system

The M-level motorhome levelling system offers much more than a level motorhome: No more swaying motion in windy conditions or rocking motorhome if your partner has a disturbed night.

No more searching through the lockers for your ramps and chocks. Pull up and select Automatic Levelling. Once the M-Level is deployed the jacks will not retract until you want them to. Whether that’s when you select “Retract Jacks” on the handset, or if you’ve selected “Auto Retract” in the menu – so the jacks retract on ignition.

Changing a wheel can be a mammoth task. With M-Level simply manually raise the front, back, left, or right of your motorhome to get easy access to any wheel. Getting that last drop of water out of the tanks can also prove a challenge. Like pouring your favourite bottle of wine – simply tilt the van to one side to let the tanks drain. Don’t let your tyres develop flat spots during long periods of storage. In “Manual Adjustment” easily lift all four (or six!) wheels off the ground for as long as you wish.

FAQ’s

  1. WHAT ANGLE CAN THE SYSTEM LEVEL FROM?
The M-level system can level automatically from as much as 7° slope. If the vehicle is at a more acute angle, then the system will time out and suggest using “Manual Adjustment”. The condition of the ground surface should be carefully considered before compensating for any greater angles. It may be safer and easier to move to a more suitable position.
  2. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEVEL?
This is dependent on the starting position of the vehicle, but the average is60 – 90 seconds. Manufacturers’ tests have shown that the speed at which the M-level jacks deploy gives the most accurate level on completion of deployment.
  3. CAN YOU ADJUST THE JACKS MANUALLY?
Yes. It’s very simple to use the wireless touchscreen handset to select “Manual Adjustment”. From here it’s possible to accurately lift the front, back, left, or right side of the vehicle to your required position. This is also very useful for emptying tanks, changing a tyre etc.
  4. WHAT VOLTAGE WILL THE M-LEVEL OPERATE AT?
The system will operate at 11.6 volts, but at least 12 volts is preferable. It takes its power from the engine battery and will display “Charge Engine Battery” if the voltage drops below this so that the engine can still be started.
  5. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL THE M-LEVEL?
An average is 10 hours, but this is very much dependent on the vehicle, where the system is mounted and where the handset is located. Normally the installer will need the vehicle for a day, sometimes 2 days to ensure the system is fitted to the high standards expected.
  6. WHAT IF I LOSE OR DAMAGE THE HANDSET?
Even without the handset, it’s possible to retract the jacks. For security reasons, this is only published in the user manual.
  7. WHAT HAPPENS IF I LOSE ALL POWER?
The pump assembly has a manual pump handle that can be operated to retract (or deploy) the jacks without electrical power.
  8. HOW OFTEN SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE SERVICED?
It’s good practice to have them checked and serviced periodically, including changing the fluids. Depending on usage, the manufacturer recommends servicing every 3-5years. An Apollo M-level installation agent should always be used.
  9. CAN YOU LIFT THE VEHICLE OFF ITS WHEELS FOR WINTERISING?
Yes, you can. If lifting to winterise the vehicle then it’s good policy to manually lift until the tyres are just touching the ground but taking no weight. Ideally, operate the system once every few weeks to keep it lubricated and finally, spray the exposed rods with a dry PTFE lubricant (not silicone).
  10. WITH THE SYSTEM FITTED HOW MUCH GROUND CLEARANCE WOULD I HAVE?
This is dependent upon the height of the vehicle to begin with; the positioning of the hydraulics brackets, the weight of the vehicle, and other factors. The ideal ground clearance is 15-17cm.
  11. WHAT WEIGHT IS THE M-LEVEL CAPABLE OF LIFTING?
The M-level system is marketed as being capable of lifting 10 tons. It’s tested to over 12 tons.
  12. HOW MUCH WEIGHT DOES THE SYSTEM ADD TO MY VEHICLE?
This depends on the vehicle type and the brackets required. The average weight of an M-level full kit is approximately 55 kg. Bear in mind that it’s possible to remove any existing corner steadies, and there’s no longer any need for you to carry a jack or levelling blocks etc.
